How To Transfer To Us - Foster Care Group

The Fostering Network Transfer Protocol outlines agreed general principles which apply for all existing foster parents who wish to transfer agencies:

All approved foster parents have the right to change agencies if they so wish.
Placements are able to transfer with you unless there is a specific detriment to the child.

If you are an approved foster parent with the local authority or another fostering agency FCGW will guide you through the whole transfer process. We understand that it can be a big decision to transfer agencies and we are happy to have an informal discussion with you about the process. We have experienced many carers transferring to our agency and are able to make the whole transfer process as smooth as possible.

If you already have a child/children placement, we will arrange a protocol meeting with the local authority who placed the child/children and your current agency to discuss the details of the transfer and ensure that there is minimal disruption for all concerned.
